We fly in trainers from all over the world to help us with our horsemanship in South Tipperary. We are proud to host Steve and Irena Halfpenny, Tanja Penders, Mark and Crissi Rashid, Tom Widdicombe and Jeff Sanders. Each of these clinicians put the horse first in everything they do.
Steve Halfpenny, Australia
We have had all types of horses, from champion show horses and prize winning dressage horses, to cobs, hunters, showjumpers, racehorses, sport horses, ponies and connemaras. Every horse can benefit from Steve’s approach to horsemanship.
Riders have come from all levels and disciplines… those who started riding in the last few years, classical dressage riders looking for insights as Steve has done a lot of work with Manolo Mendez, who was head of the Spanish Riding School in Jerez, Spain, those interested in natural horsemanship & the Californian style of Vaquero Horsemanship, working with bosals, hackamores and garrochas, and all those wanting a better and happier relationship with their horse.
The focus at all clinics is Light Hands Equitation. The first goal is relaxation for both horse and rider, and once this is in place, each rider progresses at their own speed through balance, feel, timing, lightness, softness in a really fun and friendly clinic environment. Check out pictures & reports of Steve’s previous clinics in Ireland in our blog.
