Recently courtingthehorse.com’s Maria Wood paid a visit to Cahir, Co. Tipperary to catch up with Steve Halfpenny from Silversand Horsemanship. Steve was giving a four day clinic as part of his and his wife Irena’s four month tour educating horse owners around the world. During this interview Steve talks to Maria about his 25 year journey through horsemanship, the idea of understanding the horse’s mind in order to gain his cooperation and lots more. Listen.

Irish Natural Horsemanship was founded in 2003 to establish a community of people in Ireland who would like to learn more about training horses of all types, ages and disciplines. We now offer clinics and getogethers of various types including treks and mini-camps in Ireland with leading national and international trainers, and maintain a register of approved horse trainers based around the country. Our trainers have undergone a rigorous assessment procedures, and are talented and experienced natural horse people, available for private lessons and horse training help. You can also work towards becoming a trainer yourself, and follow our students training program. We also now have a new online learning area with over 80 detailed lessons for all levels, a new members social community area with blogs, photos, pictures, instant messaging, etc, and an extensive beginners section with online video tutorials.
